Weekly Update 1-19-25

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

Don’t forget there is no school tomorrow, Monday, January 20, 2025, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We have many events planned for this week, but be sure to check our Google calendar, social media, and website for any changes that may occur due to the weather. If you are not receiving phone calls for the weekly updates, be sure to contact your child’s building. This is the same system we use for delays, cancellations, and other emergencies, and it is especially important with winter weather. On Tuesday, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at home, jr. high girls’ basketball plays at Hardin Northern, high school boys’ basketball plays at Temple, and high school girls’ basketball plays at home. On Wednesday, high school bowling competes at Cooper’s Bowl, and freshmen boys’ basketball plays at home. On Thursday, elementary students will participate in Jump Rope for the Heart during the day. In addition, high school bowling competes at Cooper’s Bowl, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at Kenton, jr. high girls’ basketball plays at home, and high school girls’ basketball plays at home. On Friday, high school boys play at Hardin Northern with freshmen kicking off at 5pm. On Saturday, jr. high wrestling competes at Seneca East, high school girls’ basketball plays at Waynesfield-Goshen, and high school boys’ basketball plays at home.

Mark your calendars for our Family Appreciation Night at the high school boys’ basketball game on Tuesday, January 28. Not only will the Dribble Club be performing, but there will be drawings for gift certificates, Ridgedale magnets, and a photo booth for Ridgedale families! Check out the Hidden in Plain Sight programming sponsored by the Marion Crawford Prevention Programming, which will be held in the library. This is a drug awareness program for parents and guardians that shows dangerous items that can be “hidden”in plain sight.

Would you like to be a part of our small district doing big things? We are still actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets! And, for Monday, go, Bucks!
