Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
We have numerous learning opportunities and activities planned before winter break, so if you are looking for something to do to support our Rockets, there are plenty of options. On Monday, jr. high girls’ basketball plays at home against Elgin, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at Elgin, and high school boys’ basketball plays at home against McComb. Some high school students will have Ohio State Testing retakes on Tuesday. Your child has been notified if they have retakes. Regular classes will be in session on this day. Additionally, on Tuesday, high school bowling takes on Harding at Cooper’s Bowl. There is also an elementary holiday program for 1st and 2nd graders at 6pm, but the doors open at 5pm so all grade level families can bid on trees decorated by each classroom in the Tree Silent Auction. Plus, snap pictures with a special visitor! On Wednesday, the elementary fall fundraiser items will be ready for pick up. There is a holiday movie night for students in the jr./sr. high after school starting at 3:30pm. Admission is $5 and includes popcorn and water. Bowling competes at North Baltimore, and the freshmen boys’ basketball plays Horizon Science at home. On Thursday, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at Waynesfield-Goshen, high school girls’ basketball takes on Elgin at Elgin, and high school bowling competes against Fredericktown at Trio Lanes. We will have our December Fueled Up Friday this Friday morning where we will focus on reviewing Portrait of a Rocket competencies, including communication, integrity, and responsibility, while providing PBIS celebrations and connections to career pathways. Also on Friday, high school boys’ basketball will take on Elgin at home. On Saturday, high school wrestling will compete at Elgin.
Looking ahead, if you have a student who is in grades 7-11 and is interested in taking College Credit Plus in the 2025-26 school year, be sure you attend the CCP night on Monday, December 16, at 7pm. Don’t forget Friday, December 20 is our last day of school before winter break. Students will return to school on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Please remember to regularly check your child’s grades. You can access them on PowerSchool. Please contact your child’s building if you need help accessing PowerSchool.
We are a small district doing big things, so be sure to keep up to date with all of the news and events by using our website, Google Calendar, and social media.
Are you looking for a way to give back to our community? We are actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
