Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential.
This weekend was homecoming weekend, and what a weekend it was! It is often said to look for the helpers, and, once again, our community showed up to support our district! We enjoyed a full week of celebrations that culminated with so many exciting accomplishments! We had a big homecoming football win with our band rocking and leading themselves and our alumni cheerleaders joining in with our current cheerleaders. We were proud to host the NWCC cross country meet where Brogan Weston took 1st place, Elliot Weston took 2nd place, and Michael Richmond took 3rd place for the high school boys. Hannah Staton took 5th place for the high school girls, and Avery Thiel took 1st place and Kinlee Weston took 2nd place for the jr. high girls. Thank you to the families and staff who worked this event! We also had a phenomenal homecoming dance because of the staff, students, and families who gave time and materials to make this event a success! Thank you to all of them!
If you were at any of these events this weekend, you probably noticed that our new football scoreboard is in! We are grateful for Ms. Leach and our sponsors, including M and W Farms, the Slaughterbeck family, the Jake Matteson Family, the Ridgedale Lion’s Club, and OhioHealth. Marion County Farm also allowed us to work the Pit Gates to raise money for the scoreboard. We can't forget a thank you to Atom/Thiel Electric and MB Farms for donating to get the play clocks, too!
Hopefully, you are already out at the Softball Color Run! Registration is 1-2pm today with the run starting at 2pm. There is an athletic and music booster club meeting on Monday evening, and high school volleyball competes in tournament action at Fairfield Christian. Third graders will take their fall ELA Ohio State Testing this week with part 1 on Tuesday and part 2 on Thursday. Seniors will attend the Made In Marion job fair on Tuesday. The end of first quarter is this Thursday, so be sure to continue to check grades on PowerSchool. Jr. high football plays at home on Thursday. There is no school this Friday due to COTA Day, but high school football plays at Waynesfield Goshen on Friday. The district cross country event is on Saturday at Hilliard Darby.
We are proud to be a small district doing big things, so be sure to keep up to date with all of the news and events by using our website, Google Calendar, and social media.
Are you looking for a way to give back to our community? We are actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
