Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
Did you know that we have Career Technical Education pathways and courses right here at Ridgedale? This is especially important for our high school students and families to know as they are starting to schedule for the 2024-25 school year! Not only do we have agriculture and engineering, but we now offer two informational technology pathways and an education pathway as well. In addition, students can take college credit plus courses through colleges such as Marion Tech, Ohio State University Marion and more. In order to provide a truly comprehensive education, we encourage our students to be involved in multiple pathways. Each pathway provides life-long skills and hands-on learning opportunities!
Perhaps your student has talked to you about some innovative ways we have been offering some exciting and educational opportunities once a month on Fridays. These Fridays are focused on PBIS rewards and reteaching, career connections, positive messages, enrichment opportunities, change the world projects, and so much more! This Friday, jr/sr high school students will be participating in a career day based on their YouScience aptitudes. As you may have seen on our social media, one of the activities the elementary students will be doing is focusing their Change the World project on helping those who were affected by the tornado at Indian Lake. We are proud of the work our staff has put into these Fridays for our students!
Don’t forget if you have a child who is eligible for preschool next year, you can sign them up by finding the application on our website! Please contact the elementary school with any questions.
Spring sports start this week with the high school track team competing at the Chilly Relays at Fredericktown. Mark your calendar for Spring Break! It is coming up Thursday, March 28 through Monday, April 1.
We encourage you to follow our LiveFeed on our website as well as social media to watch all of the phenomenal work being done! You can also find events on our Google Calendar on our website.
We are still hiring! Consider becoming a substitute in our schools! You can join our team as a substitute aide, teacher, cafeteria worker, custodian, secretary, and/or bus driver. Please fill out an application on our website, and email me to set up an interview.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Make it a great week, and Go, Rockets!
