Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
With our focus on safety, I wanted to remind you of two reporting options for students, families, and community members. If you have a safety concern, you can call or text 1-844-SAFEROH for the tip line which reports directly to law enforcement who will reach out to the school. We also provide the Stay Safe, Speak Up programming that can be found on the Ridgedale website or app. You can call this hotline at 1-866-547-8362. This information is reported directly to our administrative staff. Both systems are monitored 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
As part of our planning for safety, we will be practicing scenarios with our students throughout the year. The jr/sr high building held a functional drill where students were given a scenario, and they had to physically move and decide what to do. The elementary will be starting with some tabletop discussions this week where students will be given some scenarios and talk through how they would handle the situations.
Just a reminder that Morral Kirkpatrick Rd. E. between Tobias Rd. and St. Rt. 98 will be closed October 9 through 25 for a bridge replacement. In addition, we received word that CR 212-A between St. Rt. 423 and Marseilles Galion Rd. E. along with Marseilles Galion Rd. E. between Mason Rd. and Foos Rd. will be closed for 30 days beginning October 11 for bridge replacement.
